Quick tip: You can only choose one category per search, but you can search different categories each time, as many times as you like.- Example A

- Determine which schools you are interested in finding out more about. After clicking on a school's link in the search results list, you will be taken to a page that gives a short overview of the school; what courses from your chosen category are offered there; and other useful information about financial aid, admissions requirements and more.
If the school sounds interesting, fill out the form on the page. (Ex. D) Each field that has a red asterisk (*) next to it is a required field. The form will not be processed without this information.- Example D

- After you have filled out all of the required fields, hit the "Request Information" button at the bottom of the form. (Ex. E) It will take the school anywhere from a few minutes to a few days to respond to your request for information.

To search for online courses:
The Internet is expanding like never before, and more schools are offering courses and degrees online. If you have access to a computer with an Internet connection, you can probably find an online course that will suit your needs and your schedule.
Online courses are generally offered to people living anywhere in the country. Most schools have online courses that feature identical or very similar study materials as their regular courses. This means that the degree outcome of an online course is many times identical to the degree outcome of a traditional course. Basically, if you can connect to the Internet, you can earn a degree or certification.
- You can find the entire list of our online degree providers by clicking on the "Distance Learning" link at the top right of the Search4CareerColleges homepage. (Ex. H) This will take you to a page that categorizes the schools by the curricula they teach. (Ex. I)

- After you click on the online school category of your choice, you can pick from a list of schools you find interesting.
- Follow steps 4-6 from the instructions on how to search by course type.
Troubleshooting:
- Did you conduct a search for a school but come up with an empty list? If you did, this doesn't always mean that there are no schools in your area currently accepting new students. You can conduct a broader search for schools in your chosen categories and areas by using our "Search by State" function. (Ex. J)

When your search returns no results:
Here, you could investigate an online course. Matching online schools are located in the righthand column with classes similar to the criteria that you want in an on-campus school. For instance, you may have wanted to go to a local college to learn how to be a paralegal, but found that no schools in your area have open slots in paralegal courses. Paralegal certification is a common online course and you may find many acceptable courses that give the same certification. Learn more about online degrees.
If you get an error message:
- Error forms look like this (Ex. K). If you see this page, your information was not sent to the school you chose because they are not currently accepting new students. You can follow the link at the top of the page back to your original search results to pick another school from the list.
